Solid Cherry

Solid Cherry
How do you keep the fruit from freezing solid when you make homemade ice cream?

I've tried making vanilla ice cream and adding cherries and strawberries. Both times the fruit is freezing so hard it's uncomfortable to eat, even when I slice the fruit very thin. Is there some secret to getting the fruit to not freeze so solid?

Since you are not trying to make cherry or strawberry ice cream, you couldn't puree the fruit and mix it in. I would add the fruits to the ice cream as you are eating it. Let the ice cream sit for a few minutes to soften up, then add the fruit to your bowl and mix in the soft ice cream.
