White, Larry2008-12-15 Larry White, 59, of El Dorado Springs, MO., passed away on Monday, December 15, 2008.Larry was born on November 7, 1949, in Salem, IL, the son of Ira and Dorothy (Stowers) White. Larry graduated from Salem Community High School in Salem, IL. He served twenty years and retired from the United States Army as SFC E7 in 1989. Mr. White then worked for Contract Service in Fort Riley, KS retiring in 1998 where upon he and his wife Shirley relocated to El Dorado Springs, MO. Larry married Shirley Ann Rhodes on November 7, 1970, in Warrington, England. Larry was a member of the All Saints Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with members of his family. He was a devoted husband, father and brother. He is survived by his wife Shirley and his son Paul Rhodes of El Dorado Springs, MO; six brothers Michael White, Edward White, David White, Billy White, Jimmy White all of Illinois and Danny Molz of AR; four sisters Carolyn Harriman of IL, Virginia Snodgrass of IL, Elaine Marker of LA and Christine Clark of IL. He is also survived by four sister-in-laws Yvonne Jenkins and her husband David of Nevada, Donna Wood and her husband Troy of Walker, Johanna Rhodes of Warrington, England and Melinda Rhodes of Delaware, OH; a brother-in-law Gordon Rhodes of Warrington, England as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his mother and father; Ira and Dorothy White of Salem, IL, two sisters; Cleta White of Salem, IL and Helen Sue Sample of Manhattan, KS. A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, December 19, 2008 at Evergreen Memorial Chapel in Nevada, MO. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Rhodes, Troy Wood, David Jenkins, Gordon Rhodes, Michael White, Edward White, Billy White, David White and Jimmy White. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 75 Maiden Lane, Suite 603, New York, NY 10038 or in care of Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
