Bailey, Sarah Jane2008-11-08 Sarah Jane Bailey, 87 of Nevada, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008, at Moore-Few Care Center.Sarah was born on May 7, 1921 to Jay Monroe and Laura Bell Beaver, she was welcomed by brothers, Floyd and Lester Beaver and one sister, Ruby Burnett. In the 1940's, she married Roy Junior Minnis and they had two sons, Kenneth Gene and Victor Lee Minnis. In 1964, Sarah married Henry Bailey and through this union along with Joe Edwin Bailey, they became family. For many years Sarah worked as a waitress. She also worked a number of years in the Nevada School District as a cook before becoming a full-time homemaker. Survivors include her son, Victor Lee Minnis (Rose Ann) of Raymore, MO; one daughter-in-law Kathryn Bailey of Nevada and seven grandchildren; Tonya Olinde (Kelly), Tim Minnis, Charles Minnis, Chris Minnis (Kelly), Robert Bailey (Julie), Tracey Garren and Abby Cagle (David). Sarah is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bailey of Nevada (2005), a son Kenneth G. Minnis of Kansas City (1993) and a stepson Joe Edwin Bailey of Nevada (2007). She was also preceded in death by her parents; Jay Monroe Beaver (1924) and Laura Bell Beaver (1957), two brothers Floyd Beaver of Wichita, KS (1984) and Lester Beaver of Nevada and a sister Ruby Burnett of Nevada. Sarah loved being with her family and cooking them great meals. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and listening to country music. Sarah could sing out a tune or two to anyone who wanted to listen. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Newton Cemetery in Nevada, MO.
