McNeil, Thayne William2006-02-13 Thayne William McNeil of Bronaugh, Missouri passed away February 13, 2006 in Nevada, Missouri.He was born October 11, 1918 in Pleasanton, Kansas, the only child of Ferne Madge Griffith and Elmer Lloyd McNeil. He attended school in Pleasanton, Kansas and graduated from Mound City, Kansas in 1938, he loved being on the football team. After graduation, he moved with his parents to Cody, Wyoming where he worked on their farm and raised cattle and had a dairy. He married Lea Lillian Wright at her parents home on December 31, 1947 at Cody Wyoming. In 1966, Thayne and his family and parents moved to Bronaugh, Missouri where they continued farming and dairying. He always loved to farm and work with the livestock and was an avid hunter and fisherman his whole life. He was a 50 year member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Cody, Wyoming. He is survived by his wife Lea, and his 3 children: sons, William L. McNeil and Carey E. McNeil of Bronaugh, Missouri and daughter, Thaylee McNeil of Nevada, Missouri; 4 grandchildren: William Lee McNeil II of Windsor, Missouri, Ashley (& Brent) Banes, Bronaugh, Missouri, Matt (& Lori) Layher of Bronaugh, Missouri, and Elise McNeil of Nevada, Missouri, and 3 great-granddaughters: Josie Banes of Bronaugh, Missouri, Natali and Emily Layher of Bronaugh, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with Minister Kennon Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Worsley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Thursday evening. Arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
