Johnson, Betty S.2006-02-10 Betty S. Johnson, of Nevada, Missouri was born December 2, 1924 in Nevada, Missouri thedaughter of George Callaway & Mary (Wheatley). She passed way on Friday February 10, 2006 at Christian Health Care at 81 years of age. Mrs. Johnson graduated from Nevada High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Richard E. Johnson on February 10, 1946 in Nevada, Missouri and he preceded her in death in November 1987. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada. She was employed at the State Hospital from 1966 to 1987 in the food service division and loved to cook even in her time away from work. She was also a member of Christian Womens Fellowship, Christian Builder Sunday School Class and a Widows Support Group, all of which she took great pleasure in attending. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include one son, Dick Johnson and his wife, Shirley, of Nevada, Missouri; one daughter, Judy Gammon and her husband, Doug, of Nevada, Missouri; one sister, Mary Jane Callaway of Nevada, Missouri; four grandchildren, Roy Johnson, Sean Johnson, Jeffery Gammon and Dustin Gammon; and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bill Platt officiating. Burial will follow in Newton Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
