Carter Sr., Leslie William2008-04-08 Leslie William Carter, Sr was born June 8, 1925 in Keystone, Oklahoma and passed away at Nevada Regional Medical Center April 8, 2008. Mr. Carter is from the Rich Hill, MO area.Mr. Carter is survived by a brother Kenneth and his wife Lucille Carter of Peculiar MO. Mr. Carter is also survived by his five children Bonnie Bentz of VA, Ronnie Carter of VA, Lonnie Carter of Purdy MO, Melinda Miller of Springfield MO and Leslie Carter Jr of Milton KY. Mr. Carter was blessed with having 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. His parents Marion Carter and Mary Frye and one sister preceded him in death. Mr. Carter was a WWII veteran serving as a Seaman 1st Class in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. Memorial Services will be held 4:00pm Thursday, April 10 at the Cherry Street Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. Burial will be 9am Friday, April 11 at the Veterans Cemetery also located in Springfield.
