Ladwig, Nellie Mae2007-01-11 Nellie Mae Ladwig departed this life on January 11th, 2007 at her home. She was born February 26, 1941 in Greenfield, Missouri in Dade County to James William and Opal Merrie Mayes.Nellie married Melvin Ladwig on April 21st, 1962 in Greenfield, Missouri. She also attended school in Greenfield. Nellie had several hobbies that she enjoyed including boating, fishing, bingo and playing cards. She also loved to spend time with her familyand many friends. She worked at the Nevada State Hospital for 12 years. After that she worked at the San Jose California school district for five years. When she returned to Nevada she resumed her job at the Nevada City Hospital until her retirement in 1997. Her survivors are her husband Melvin of the home, Rick Clayton, San Jose, California, Randy Ladwig of Nevada, Missouri, Roxanna Leer of Sheldon, Missouri and Rose Thorton of Nevada, Missouri. One sister Fern Merrie Brown of Lamar, Missouri, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews and her best friend Lura Eslinger. She was preceeded in death by her parents and once granddaughter Bethany Nichole Leer. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday January 13, 2007 at Balltown cemetery with Rev. John Nichols presiding over the Graveside service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart and Lung Association. Services are under the direction of Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
