Thomas, Marie2006-11-28 Marie Thomas, the daughter of Sam Utter and Grace Bowers, was born July 10, 1912, in Rocky Comfort, Missouri and passed away on November 28, 2006 at 94 years of age. Marie was a teacher at Bryan elementary school in Nevada, Missouri for many years. She touched many young hearts over her years there and eventually retired from Bryan. Her favorite activity at the school was when her and Sally Steve would dress up as pilgrims for Thanksgiving and perform a skit. The children loved it because they dressed up as well and it was a good time had by all. Marie was a member of the BPW, the Alpha Delta Kappa teachers sorority, Vernon County Retired Teachers Association and the United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Ralph Clark officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Rocky Comfort, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
