Bruns, Howard2005-02-05 Howard A. Bruns, 84, the son of Lewis Arthur and Anna Marie Komer Bruns, was born July 9, 1920 in Morris Mill, Missouri and passed away Saturday February 5, 2005 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.He was united in marriage to the former Juanita Willers on April 5, 1946. Mr. Bruns was a retired military man, having served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. He was a WWII Veteran, a Prisoner of War in the Batan Death March, and served during the time of the Korean War. He was a member of the Elks, the American Legion, V.F.W., D.A.V., and the National Guard Association. He owned and operated Bruns Garage for many years. He was a member of the First Christian Church, serving as a deacon and board member. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Bruns of the home, one son, Howard Jeffrey Bruns of Kansas City, Missouri, one brother, Robert Bruns of Pueblo, Colorado, one sister, Betty Greenlee of the state of Wyoming, and one grandson, Mark Kevin Chilcote of Nashville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Lee Chilcote and Christine Sue Bruns. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday February 9, 2005 at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with Bill Platt and Pastor Dave Rorabaugh officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Newton Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
