August, Virginia2005-02-26 Virginia August passed away February 26, 2005 at Moore-Few Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was born August 26, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and her husband, Alfred August. Survivors include one daughter, Sonja Catalano: two grandchildren, Jason and Gina, and four great grandchildren, all of the state of California. She will also be greatly missed by many good friends of the Nevada, Mo area. Her organizational memberships include; Eastern Star, White Shrine, Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, United Methodist Church and Widows of the Batan-Carriqadore Death March. Services for Virginia August will be held on Wednesday March 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with interment at the National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas.
